Australia is a premier destination for skilled professionals, students, and families seeking a high quality of life, excellent healthcare, and a thriving economy. The Australian immigration system is points-based and offers multiple pathways tailored to different skills and circumstances.

Skilled Independent Visa (Subclass 189)

The Subclass 189 visa is a permanent residence visa for skilled workers who are not sponsored by an employer, state, or family member. You must submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) through SkillSelect, have an occupation on the relevant skilled occupation list, and meet the points threshold. Points are awarded for age, English proficiency, work experience, education, and other factors.

Skilled Nominated Visa (Subclass 190)

The Subclass 190 visa requires nomination by an Australian state or territory government. It provides permanent residence and adds 5 points to your SkillSelect score. Each state has its own priority occupation lists and eligibility criteria, and nominees are expected to live and work in the nominating state for at least two years.

Employer-Sponsored Visas (Subclass 482 & 494)

The Temporary Skill Shortage visa (Subclass 482) allows Australian employers to sponsor overseas workers for positions they cannot fill locally. The Skilled Employer Sponsored Regional visa (Subclass 494) is for regional areas. Both require a valid nomination from an approved sponsor, relevant skills and qualifications, and at least two years of work experience in the nominated occupation.

Student Visa (Subclass 500)

Australia hosts over 700,000 international students across its world-class universities and vocational institutions. The Student visa allows you to study full-time, work up to 48 hours per fortnight during term, and apply for a Temporary Graduate visa (Subclass 485) after completing your studies, providing 2–4 years of post-study work rights.

Partner & Family Visas

Australian citizens and permanent residents can sponsor their spouse, de facto partner, or dependent children. The Partner visa (Subclass 820/801) is a two-stage process — a temporary visa followed by a permanent visa after two years. Parent visas are also available, though processing times can be lengthy.

Permanent Residency & Citizenship

After holding an eligible visa and living in Australia for the required period, you can apply for permanent residency. Australian citizenship is available after 4 years of residence (including 1 year as a permanent resident). Citizens enjoy full voting rights, an Australian passport, and access to all government services.
